  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, buttermilk, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the muffins cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the wet ingredients.
  • These muffins can also be made with frozen blueberries, just increase the baking time by a few minutes.
