- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, heavy cream, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Cook until heated through.
- Meanwhile, cook orzo according to package instructions, then drain.
- Fold the cooked orzo into the meat sauce mixture.
- Season with salt, pepper, and stir in fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add grated parmesan cheese on top before serving.
- Adjust spice levels to your preference using more or less red pepper flakes.
