Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, heavy cream, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Cook until heated through.
  4. Meanwhile, cook orzo according to package instructions, then drain.
  5. Fold the cooked orzo into the meat sauce mixture.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and stir in fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add grated parmesan cheese on top before serving.
  • Adjust spice levels to your preference using more or less red pepper flakes.
